The West Bengal National University Of Juridical Sciences Recruits Registrar / Professors / Associate Professor / Asstt. Professors in 2010, Kolkata
Applications are invited for filling up the following posts:-
1. Registrar
Number of Posts: 01
Pay Band (Rs): 37000-67000, Grade Pay =Rs.10000/-
Essential and Desirable Qualifications:
EQ:
(1) A Master’s Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent with uniformly good academic record.
(2) Fifteen years of experience in high level administration in an University /Research Institution or Government or Quasi Government or any reputed Organisation or Civil/Military service .
DQ:
Should have a strong background in administration and management in a senior position and possess substantial general management experience. Work experience in a Legal institution. A Doctorate degree or published research work of merit.
2. Professor(Law)
Number of Posts: 1
Pay Band (Rs): 37000-67000, Academic Grade Pay =Rs.10000/-
Essential and Desirable Qualifications:
EQ:
An eminent scholar with published work of high quality actively engaged in research with ten years of experience in post graduate teaching at the University/National level institutions, including experience of guiding research at doctoral Level. Outstanding teachers with 15 years of UG teaching/Research Experience may also be considered or an outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge.
DQ:
Specialisation in Corporate Laws, Taxation, Criminal Law and Family Law will be preferred.
3. Associate Professor(Law)
Number of Posts: 2(One post for Leave Vacancy up to 31/5/2012.)
Pay Band (Rs): 37000-67000, Academic Grade Pay =Rs.9000/-
Essential and Desirable Qualifications:
EQ:
i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/relevant disciplines.
ii. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
D.Q.:
Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students. Specialisation in Corporate Laws, Taxation, Criminal Law and Family Law will be preferred.
4. Assistant Professor(Law)
Number of Posts: 6(two posts for Leave Vacancy up to 30/8/2012 and One post for Leave Vacancy up to 30/8/2013)
Pay Band (Rs): 15600-39100, Academic Grade Pay=Rs.6000/-
Essential and Desirable Qualifications:
EQ:
(1) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or, an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale at the Master’s degree level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University or, an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
(2) Candidates should also have cleared the NET for lecturers conducted by the UGC, or similar test accredited by the UGC.
DQ:
1. Teaching/Research experience at University/College level at least for one year.

Prescribed application forms can be had from the Office of the Registrar (except on Sundays and holidays) either personally or by sending a self addressed envelope on payment of Rs.150 (Rs.75 for SC/ST) by way of DD in favour of WBNUJS, Kolkata, payable at Kolkata. The application form can also be downloaded from the University website www.nujs.edu and submitted along with the prescribed fee of Rs. 150 (Rs.75 for SC/ST) as indicated above.
